Sports Information Officer (Eight-Month Contract)

St. Thomas University invites applications for the position of Sports Information Officer.
The Sports Information Officer is a results-oriented individual who is responsible for creating print, web and video content and completes assignments related to sports information. Responsibilities include:
· Researching, writing and recording news and feature stories on varsity athletics
· Developing and producing content (copy, editing, video, photo)
· Managing website content and various social media interfaces
· Assist in the organization of special events and performing other duties as required
The position will be required to work a flexible work week and will liaise with the Director, Athletics and varsity team coaches, as well as other staff.
Minimum requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree preferably in Journalism or Communications, exceptional writing skills, proficiency in web and video software, experience and/or understanding of university varsity athletics, creativity and understanding of content management and the ability to research, capture and present information interestingly and convincingly. The position reports to the Director, Communications.
