Faculty/Staff Printing
On all Windows 7 computers and MAC computers, STU now uses iPrint client to print to network printers. You need to have iPrint installed and the proper printer set up in order to print to the network. The first time you print iPrint will prompt you for a username and password – This is the same information for logging into Novell i.e. when logging into your computer. You can check the box on this window to save your information for future print jobs. Please call IT Services if you are experiencing problems printing at 452-0625.
If you run into problems when you are trying to print
- Windows XP users: make sure you are logged into Novell. To check to see if you are logged in Click on My Computer and see if you can see your F://drive. If not, in the toolbar by the time, right click on the red N and click on Novell Login… and re-enter your Novell information.
- Windows 7 users: make sure you are logged into iPrint. To check this, right click on the iPrint icon (next to the time) click on iPrint settings, click on the Passwords tab. This will show the user who is logged in. If this is incorrect click on Clear Passwords and the next time you go to print it will prompt for a username and password [just enter your Novell username and password. Click on the save this username and password box and click ok.
- Make sure you are printing to the correct printer. You can check this by clicking on the start menu and clicking on Devices and Printers. In the window that comes up, it will show the printers you have installed on your computer. The printer with a Green check mark next to it is the printer that is set to default. To change the default printer, right click on the printer you want to set as default and click on Set as default printer.
- If you are printing to a Richo printer and are having problems, go into the Devices and Printers, right click on your printer and click Printing Preferences, then click on the Paper tab, and make sure the document size is set to Letter (8.5”x11”) in the drop down menu.
