Men’s Basketball Tommie, Nathan Mazurkiewicz saved his best month of play for last. In the month of March, he led his team to a come-from-behind ACAA Championship victory and a bronze medal at the CCAA national tournament.

After being named an all-conference player in the regular season, Mazurkiewicz elevated his play to an even higher level in the post season. The second-year guard from Fredericton averaged 19 points in six playoff games, while logging the most minutes on the floor.

A defining moment of his season individually came on the final day at the national championships. Playing two games in one day, the first in the morning against top-seeded UNBC to earn a spot in the bronze medal game, and the second, against Red Deer College, to lead the Tommies to a third place finish nationally.

He was player of the game in both and scored the key points when his team needed it. In the night game, Mazurkiewicz struggled to make shots early in the game. But when his team fell behind in the second half, it was Mazurkiewicz who stepped up and led them back with a gutsy performance.
