Jon DeCoste

Hi all! My name is Jon, and I’m entering my fourth year at STU taking a political science and history double major and a philosophy minor. I’ve loved the past three years here, and I’m sure you all will love it here, too! I’m from a little place called Merigomish, Nova Scotia. It’s about halfway between New Glasgow and Antigonish; having grown up in a small community where everyone knows everybody, with a strong sense of family throughout, St Thomas fits me like a glove.

In my three years at STU, I’ve been very involved and know my way. I lived in Chatham Hall for two years, the second year serving on the house committee and the Students’ Union as the Vice President External. I’ve also served on the University Senate in 2007-08, and spent the summer working as the University’s Welcome Week Coordinator. I now work as a Campus Ambassador, so if you get lost on campus or want to know the best places to study in peace and quiet, ask away!

Michelle Barclay

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle Barclay and I am 19 years old. I am from Bathurst, NB, and am in my second year here at St. Thomas. I am hoping to honour in Political Science, with a major in Spanish and eventually want to work as a Diplomat. I am now living in an apartment about two minutes from STU campus, but I lived in Harrington Hall my first year. I loved residence life, and hope all of you will have as good an experience as me!
I love to play sports which include soccer, volley-ball and gymnastics. I worked for the University in the summer, and now do Campus tours.
So, if any of you have any questions, feel free to ask me, and I'll do my best to answer as soon as I can!

Jason Cassidy

Hello,

My name is Jason Cassidy and I am from Whitby, Ontario. I am going into my second year and planning on majoring in Journalism and Political Science. I currently play for the St. Thomas Men’s Hockey Team and write for The Aqunnian (the school newspaper)

I unexpectedly arrived here last January after playing the last 4 years in the OHL with the Brampton Battalion and St. Michaels Majors. I spent my first semester at STU in Rigby Hall and loved every minute of it. Because I came mid school year, it allowed me to form some quality friendships and meet other first years around campus.

This year I am living off-campus which has forced me to become much more responsible. I look forward to getting to know all of you and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me!

Cheers,
Jason

Mandy Fulton

Hey Everyone!

My name is Mandy Fulton and I’m from Truro, NS. I’m a fourth year student doing my honours in psychology and a minor in English. I lived in Chatham Hall for my first two years which was amazing! I’m a team captain for Run for the Cure and Relay for Life events in Fredericton. I play intramural volleyball with a group of people I met at Chatham Hall. I also work at St. Thomas with the J.O.B.S. program. This is my first year writing for the STU Blogs. Feel free to ask me any questions!

Lisa Rogers

Hey! I’m Lisa Rogers and I’m from Quispamsis, NB. I’m in my third year here at STU with a double major in Psychology and Sociology and a minor in French, with plans on going into Social Work.
I’ve lived in Vanier Hall for the past two years and loved every second of it! I was on House Committee last year as well as a Residence Advisor for Vanier Hall, and this year I am a Residence Advisor in Harrington Hall. I think living in residence is an awesome experience and a great introduction to university life.
This summer I stayed up in Fredericton and worked for the University Conference Services down at Rigby and Chatham Hall which was lots of fun.
A little bit about me: I love shopping, shoes, country music, chocolate, guitar hero, Friends, Grey’s Anatomy and Sex and the City :-)
If you have any questions about anything, ask away!
