Each year, St. Thomas welcomes back students who choose to resume their
university studies. Whether you’re interesting in completing your degree or
exploring specific interests, St. Thomas offers of a variety of options.
Rediscover our unique academic programmes and positive learning environment
through full- or part-time study during the academic year or in our Spring or
Summer sessions. Whether you have been away for one year or 20, or have 117 or
6 credit hours remaining to complete your Bachelor of Arts degree programme, we
have a place for you in our community.
If it’s been some time since you attended St. Thomas, you’ll find we’ve thrived
– with more course options in over 30 academic disciplines, new buildings and a
beautifully landscaped campus – but we continue to nourish the intimate

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I reapply?
- Do my St. Thomas liberal arts credits still count?
- What if I left St. Thomas due to academic difficulties?
1. How do I reapply?
Returning applicants submit a completed application form (available at How to
Apply or from the Admissions Office) and a brief note explaining what you’ve
been doing since last attending university. If you’ve attended another
university since leaving St. Thomas, you are considered a transfer student and
can find application information at Transfer Students.
There is a $35.00 CAD application fee which can be paid online by credit card,
by cheque (payable to St. Thomas University), or by credit card (VISA or
MasterCard) through the Admissions Office. Students who have been accepted to
and completed courses at St. Thomas University within the past three years are
not required to pay the application fee.
2. Do my St. Thomas liberal arts credits still count?
Yes. At St. Thomas we have no time limit after which courses no longer count
for credit towards the degree programme. What could be influenced by time is
the specific course requirements for a major or programme. An academic advisor
will review any changes with you.
3. What if I left St. Thomas due to academic difficulties?
If you left on academic probation, you are not required to take time off from
your university studies but you will need to provide a brief letter explaining
the reasons for your academic difficulties and why you are ready to resume your
studies.
If you were required to withdraw from St. Thomas, you can be considered for
re-admission 12 months from the time of your dismissal. Please include with
your application, a letter explaining the reasons for your past academic
performance and why you are likely to be successful if readmitted to
university.
