Welcome Week will take place from August 30-September 8!

Every year St. Thomas University’s incoming students have the opportunity to take part in Welcome Week. This first week on campus will give the new students an opportunity to meet their peers, familiarize themselves with the campus, get to know the services available to them and take part

in tons of activities. While Welcome Week is designed to foster relationships within the students’ residence/off-campus community, this year will also focus on promoting inclusion by creating opportunities for stronger bonds within the entire STU community.

Come join us for a fun-filled Welcome Week. We cannot wait for you to get here!

REBECCA KINGSTON
Welcome Week Chair

Welcome to St. Thomas!

You are about to embark on your greatest adventure yet and I am excited to take part in that with you. As your Welcome Week Chair I am working closely with the Welcome Week Coordinator, my executive team, and our awesome volunteers to kick off your university career.

St. Thomas is filled with wonderful faculty, staff, and administration that are here because they want to help you make the most out of your post-secondary experience. They are truly dedicated to you and your ability to grow through education, both in and outside of the classroom.

Welcome Week is a time to get to know university life, and most importantly, to have fun! No matter how far you’re coming from into Welcome Week, I promise that STU will become your new home the moment you step onto campus.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at su_wwchair@stu.ca.

CHLOÉ SAULNIER
Welcome Week Coordinator

As a fourth-year student, I am familiar with the whirlwind of emotions surrounding your first week of university, and as part of my role I want to ensure that my team and I make your transition into this new life as easy as possible. We hope that what we have in store for you during your first week at STU will help make our small campus feel like your new home.

So far this summer, I have been working closely with our residences, off-campus community, and Welcome Week Teams to plan activities for your first week with us, and I cannot wait for you to see what they have in store for you (spoiler alert: you are going to LOVE it!)!

I am so excited to meet you all in August, but in the meantime do not hesitate to reach out at welcomeweek@stu.ca!

See you all so very soon!

BAILEY ANDREWS
Head Welcome Week Leader

The St. Thomas community along with many wonderful Welcome Week Leaders and volunteers are ready to help make your time at STU memorable!

This year’s Welcome Week will be run a bit differently, giving students the opportunity to mingle with not only others from their respected residence or the off-campus community but you will be divided into teams combined of on- and off-campus students giving you the opportunity to tighten the STU community bond.

Welcome Week is a time before school starts to get used to the new surroundings and get to know one another. Volunteers are working hard to plan exciting events and activities for you to enjoy. Take advantage of this to meet new people and simply have fun before classes begin.

The STU Community has so much to offer if you are willing to take advantage of it all and Welcome Week is the first of many events to take place on campus. We cannot wait to make it the best one yet!
