Canadian Institutes of Health Research
The CIHR provides research funding opportunities in fields such as biomedical, clinical and health systems services, as well as social, cultural, environmental and population health research.
Canadian Institutes of Health Research Open Operating Grant Program:
The CIHR Open Operating Grant Program provides operating funds to support research proposals in all areas of health research.
Natural Science and Engineering Research Council
The NSERC supports both basic university research through discovery grants and project research through partnerships among universities, governments and the private sector.
New Brunswick Innovation Foundation
The NBIF is an independent corporation focused on stimulating innovation as a means of improving productivity and moving the knowledge-based economy forward.

Service Canada
Canada Summer Jobs, a program sponsored by Service Canada, is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program. It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create high-quality summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30.

The Canadian Subsidy Directory is an index of more than 3500 funding programs offered through a variety of governments, associations and foundations. This Directory is available through the Research Office located in George Martin Hall, suite 201.
Research Office Resources
The Research Office has laptop computers and digital transcription devices available to faculty. These resources are loaned out on a first come first served basis.
Faculty Funding for Student Employment
St. Thomas University, the Province of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada each offer funding programs helpful for hiring student research assistants.
