The Atlantic Human Rights Research and Development Centre was established to promote
and develop multidisciplinary teaching and research in the area of human rights at the
regional, national, and international levels.
The centre promotes and stimulates informed
thinking about human rights and their implication for law and society through excellence in
analysis and research.
In accordance with its objectives, AHRC conducts a wide assortment
of activities, including the two annual lectures by distinguished human rights speakers:
the Dr. Bernie Vigod Memorial Lecture in Human Rights in the fall semester and the
Dr. Abdul Lodhi Lecture in the winter semester.
