Prizes will be based on entry fees received, with all fees less administrative costs, returned to participants. The following prize list has been guaranteed by St. Thomas University:
1st Prize: $300
2nd Prize: $200
3rd Prize: $100
Best Under 1800 rating: $75
Best Under 1600 rating: $75
Best Under 1400 rating: $75
Best Age 16 and under: $75
Best Age 14 and under: $75
Best Age 12 and under: $75
Top Female: $100
All participants will receive a commemorative 2009 Maritime Open medallion.
Lottery draw will take place before the prize awards on Monday, October 13. Players who are unable to stay for the drawing may designate someone to draw for them.
Revenues in excess of this prize list will be distributed proportionally throughout the nine categories. Any ties will be broken by best performance ratings. Players will be eligible to receive only one prize. Each class/age group must have more than one eligible player in it for it to be in effect.
Second place finishers in the three age categories will receive a $25 certificate from St. Thomas University that will be good for the use by that player for her/his future tuition costs at St. Thomas.
FEES
$40 for regular members
$25 for juniors (18 and under) and seniors (over 65)
Player who register before October 4th will receive $5 off.
