The inaugural conference of the Canadian Society for Spirituality and Social Work (CSSSW) took place in 2002. Since then the CSSSW has been involved hosting conferences each year, either directly or as a partner with the Society for Spirituality and Social Work (USA). The first four conferences, 2002-2005, were Annual Canadian Conferences on Spirituality and Social Work that took place in various cities in Canada - Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, and London, respectively. In 2006 our fifth conference, The First North American Conference on Spirituality and Social Work took place at Renison College, University of Waterloo, and was co-sponsored by the Society for Spirituality and Social Work (USA). The dates and location of these confernces were chosen to preceed the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work.
Since 2006 the spirituality and social work conferences have been hosted alternatively by the SSSW (2007, 2009 and 2011) and the CSSSW (2008, 2010 and 2012).
The archives on this CSSSW website contain the abstracts of presentations, workshops, and keynote presentations, from all of the conferences held in Canada. Since 2005 the CSSSW website has published Conference Proceedings which include many of the papers and presentations from the conferences in Canada.
