DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

President
The President of the Union is the Chief Executive of the Union and is in charge of its general management. They are the official spokesperson of the Union and the ex-officio member of all SU Committees. The President also goes to all Board of Governor and Senate meetings. They also work closely with the VP Education on external issues. The President holds 20 office hours per week and are expected to work at the Union over the summer.
VP Admin
The VP Admin is in charge of the general administration of the Union. They are in charge of the Finances, Human Resources, the Constitution and Clubs and Societies. They give specific direction to the Chief Returning Officer, the Recording Secretary and the SRC Chair. The VP Admin holds 10 office hours a week.
VP Education
The VP Education is in charge of internal and external lobbying issues. They represent the Union at CASA and NBSA and the University Senate. The VP Education holds 10 office hours a week.
VP Student Like
The VP Student Life is in charge of administering most of the Union services. This includes emergency bursaries, the Used Book Room, the Help Desk, the Bus Pass, the Health Plan and Safewheels. They are also in charge of giving specific direction to the Help Desk Manager, the Social Issues Advocate, the Yearbook Editor and the Activities Coordinator. The VP SL holds 10 office hours a week.
Off Campus Rep
The off-campus representatives represent the off campus students. They are in charge of initiating special programs for OC students. They are expected to be OC Welcome Week leaders in the fall. They also sit and participate in at least three committees of the Union and are required to go to every weekly SRC meeting. They are required to hold 2 office hours a week.
Board of Governors Rep
The BOG Reps are the two student representatives of the STU BOG. They are required to go to all BOG meetings as well as all weekly SRC meetings. They are voting members as BOG and non-voting members at the SRC and are required to sit on two committees of the Union.
Valedictorian
The Valedictorian’s job starts right away. Their main duty is to speak at the Spring Convocation.
Aquinian Rep
The AQ Reps are elected for the Aquinian Board of Directors to represent students in regards to Aquinian matters.

Grad Class President
This student is expected to be a Grad student for the following year. They are a non-voting member of the SRC. They are expected to be the official liaison between SRC and the graduating class. The GCP also must call and chair meetings of his/her class no less than once per month. Expected to attend all regular and special meetings of the SRC and maintain no less than two office hours per week.
Student Senator
The student senators are non-voting members of the SRC. Also responsible for calling public consultations, forums, or meetings with members of the Union on issues of relevance to the Senate. Also expected to be a member of at least 1 Senate or University Committee.
Chief Returning Officer
The Chief Returning Officer shall be supervised by the Vice President Administration and shall:
(a) oversee elections of the Students’ Union in accordance with the By-laws;
(b) in cooperation with the Communications Coordinator, publicise elections;
(c) present a report to the Vice President Administration on the outcome and procedures of elections within three (3) weeks of the day of voting;
(d) recruit poll workers and returning officers as necessary, maintain records of their hours worked and submit such records to the Vice President Administration within three (3) weeks of the day of voting;
(e) attend all regular and special meetings of the SRC;
(f) be the Deputy Chairman of the SRC in the absence, inability or refusal to act of the Chairman, as shall be determined by the SRC.
