Kyle Laverty—Off Campus Rep

Hello, my name is Kyle Laverty.  I am a second year Philosophy student from Moncton.  I am running for the position of Off Campus Representative.  I am running for this position because I feel it is a good way in which I can give back to the STU community.  Also, I feel this is how I can make a difference and leave my mark on this university.

I want to help you, the Off Campus Student, to experience STU in a way that compares to how residence students experience STU.  I want Off Campus students to feel that they are valued and included members of the STU community.  I would make it my top priority to hear the voices of those I would represent.

For those who are deciding to live off campus for the first time next year, including myself, it can be an anxious experience; but in no way does it have to!  My goal next year is to make sure that you, the Off Campus student, have the year of your life!

Thank You.

Erica McCloskey—Off Campus Rep

My name is Erica McCloskey, I am a second year political science major here at St Thomas University. I am aware that many of St Thomas’s students start out there first years living in residence housing and some of these students do not realize that living on your own can add some stress to a person’s life. I want to try and make this experience easier for these students and also for those students who are currently living on their own. I would like to be a voice on the Student Union for the off campus students to make sure that they are not left out of these decisions.

Thanks,
Erica

Bryan Neilson—Off Campus Rep

Hi I am Bryan Neilson and I am running for the position of Off Campus Representative. I am a third year Political Science Honors Student here at St Thomas and feel strongly that I would make a strong candidate for this position.

First as I am a senior student I am aware of my workload and time constraints and know that they will no interfere with my ability to hold this position. This will help us all avoid those bothersome by elections for Off Campus Representative that seem to occur every year.

I also have experience working with the Student Union through my role as head of the Political Science Society. This experience as well as my strong interest in politics makes me well suited for a role with the Student Union

Thank You
Bryan Neilson

Brad Young—Off Campus Rep

My name is Brad Young, and I am a second year student at STU honoring in Great Ideas and Majoring in English and/or Philosophy and I am the current recording secretary for the SU. I am running for the position of off campus representative in this Spring’s Students’ Union election. Having lived on my own for 5 years now, I feel I have experienced and learned from it. My hope is to use my experience in relation to the ideas presented to me by the students to effectively make the lives of students living off campus here at STU easier, and ultimately welcoming. I believe in an academic environment being conducive to the life of an individual who makes the choice not to live on campus. With my own ideas and definitely those presented to me by you, the students’ union, I believe I have the drive and tenacity to actually accomplish this goal. If you want to know more, feel free to approach me as I wander and work on campus throughout the week.
